Night of the Lights is a simple way to engage our neighbors on Halloween. We know that families will already be out and about on that night! They will be looking for houses with lights on and candy ready to given out. Well, why not take advantage of a night where we can easily meet our neighbors? That’s what Night of the Lights is all about!
We want to throw a bunch of small parties in our front yards. On a night that is traditionally rather dark, we want to shine the light of Christ in our neighborhoods. The parties don’t need to be elaborate or complicated, but we do want them to be intentional. We envision a front yard environment that is conducive to meeting people. We’d love for there to be lots of lights, some simple yard games, free candy, fun music, and maybe some free drinks or hot dogs from the grill. These are just some ideas! Feel free to make it your own!
One of the biggest barriers to loving our neighbors is just finding ways to get to know them! Let’s work together to start building relationships with those who are closest to us. Who knows how the Lord might use these relationships on that night and in the future!
This is a great way for Life Groups, Sunday School classes, and neighbors to serve together!
